NEWS FROM THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE 03/16/08 “Investigators Recover Nearly Two Pounds of Marijuana and a Stolen Firearm”   On March 10, 2008 investigators from the Appalachian Drug Task Force and the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation of illegal drug activity at 278 Iberian Rd. During a search of the residence investigators located almost two pounds of marijuana, approximately $1500 cash, and a stolen firearm. The handgun had been reported stolen in Dawson County. Warren Gregory Head (28) was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
