Narcotics and Burglary Section

(N.A.B.)

Law enforcement officers will tell you most property crimes are in some way related to

DRUGS. That direct connection is why the Sheriff’s Office formed the Narcotics and

Burglary Section (N.A.B.) in 2007. This team’s focused efforts have been a major factor

in the decrease in burglaries throughout the county (see graphs) .The N.A.B. Section consists of a sergeant and three

investigators who work very closely with the Appalachian Drug Task Force to target

persons or locations of concern. We appreciate the dedication and commitment of these

officers who spend many long hours away from their families helping to make our

community a safer place to live.

While in the lab Investigator Burnett examines the castings of a tire impression collected from the scene of a theft and in the field he locates the serial number on a piece of recovered landscaping equipment.
